Hello, it’s Kevin.
Here is your weekly list of 5 things I’ve found that promote wholeness, integration and “waking up” – rather than fragmentation, dis-integration and falling asleep.
NOTE: I’ve had a wee holiday from the newsletter while working on some videos and other things at weekends. Oh fuck it, who am I kidding, I got lazy.
So this is a return to our regular Sunday service. Let us pLay.
Interview
I was recently interviewed by Hyperion Magazine - which has an interesting collection of writers and creators.
This interview is the first time I’ve told the real story of how I got into all this posture business in the first place… it’s probably not what you think.

Article
My interview with Hyperion Magazine reminded me of this excellent article they published a while ago.
I LOVE his concept of movement puzzles. It’s very similar to my own approach - and a beautiful example of psychophysical unity.
Also, it’s a much sexier phrase than “psycho-mechanical problem solving” so I’ve been stealing it a little bit in my 1-to-1 lessons. (Thanks Kenan!)
Book:
The Story of the Human Body
by Daniel Lieberman
Professor of evolutionary biology, who did interesting research on the evolution of walking and picked up a nice nickname along the way: The Barefoot Professor.
My favourite chapter is: Upstanding Apes: How we became bipeds.

An evolutionary medical perspective on shoes [VIDEO]
Daniel Lieberman
Prescription for bipedalism.
Experiment:
The barefoot biped.
The purpose of this experiment is to experience the effect of shoes on how you run.
If you are already a barefoot walker or runner you don’t need this, but if not here’s what to do.
Go running with shoes on every day until your calf muscles hurt a little bit - just a little bit stiff, not injured! Notice where the pain and stiffness is.
Take a day or two off until your calves feel ok to run again.
Now go running barefoot every day until your calf muscles hurt a little bit. Notice where the pain and stiffness is this time, and how much there is….
Have fun being a biped,
Thanks for reading,
Kevin
P.S.
If you want to become a better biped – from head to toe – I can help.
Book a FREE 15-min posture consultation and “body audit.”
I’ve been doing a bunch of these this last couple of weeks and people seem to enjoy them, so get one now before I start charging for them.
