This one is wild. And that’s before we even get to the bit about the “brain orgasms.”

I’m not a Reichian therapist (or therapist!) or even a “Reich guy” really, but I’ve experimented with some of his ideas and bodywork techniques over the years, and those of his later followers e.g. Christopher Hyatt and Jack Willis.

I now disagree with a few of Reich’s core principles – which we discuss in this episode – and think some of the aims of his work are better accomplished with other methods. But he is an interesting character, lived an extreme life, and had unique insights into the human condition.

Reich’s therapy and bodywork techniques can cause some wild experiences. Good and bad. So we share some of ours. Alex keeps tricking me into telling too many personal stories, which make me sound a bit crazy if you don’t take into account my scepticism and caveats elsewhere.
